Prior to joining HER Resiliency Center, Sara served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the National Law Center on Homelessness. There, she gained a better view of the complexity of homelessness and poverty as well as the policies that address them, but deeply craved the one-on-one interactions with the affected individuals. As part of the street outreach team, Sara is in her element by being able to support, empathize with, and doing direct-service work with a community that is close to her heart. She hopes for a career in diplomacy and poverty alleviation. Currently, Sara is a graduate student at Johns Hopkins SAIS. Outside of work and academia, Sara is heavily involved at her church and enjoys jazz, comedy, and traveling solo.
