Melissa Eckels


Melissa is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington, DC. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Creative Writing from The George Washington University in 2006 and a Masters of Social Work from The Catholic University of America in 2011. Since then, Melissa has provided case management and therapy to DC’s most vulnerable children, adolescents, and families. Melissa is currently a Clinical Supervisor at Community Connections, where she created a new program that delivers Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) to young mothers with chronic mental illness. Melissa has contributed to the development of HER Resiliency Center’s clinical framework in the hopes of reducing barriers to success for young women of all backgrounds in DC.
